✨ VENDORS: Please refer to your emails about your registration to the con! We’re also considering opening up the application again to act as a waitlist where we can pull any last minute vendors if you are still interested. We’ll ping y’all again once it’s live!
✨ PANELIST: We’ll be reaching out to you via email TOMORROW to select our panelists for the MiniCon. Keep an eye out for it. If you didn’t receive an email of confirmation anywhere, we appreciate your interest and hope to see your panel in the next year (or even at FWA!)
✨ FWA/GAF Staff: If you’re a staff for GAF or FWA with interest in attending the MiniCon, please hold off from registering! We’ll have accommodations for you announced shortly.

And of course, if you have any further questions, feel free to ping us mods in the respective platforms! We’ll work with y’all as best we can so we can all come to enjoy the MiniCon together~

:gafurs:Furries at Atlanta Pride!

When: October 12th-13th, 3PM
Where: Piedmont Park

That’s right! It’s that time of year where Atlanta Pride is back in town, and we’re so excited to share this amazing experience with everyone!

If you haven’t been to an Atlanta Pride before, then you’re in for a real treat. It’s a lovely experience in the heart of downtown Atlanta, at the beautiful Piedmont Park. There’ll be lots of celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as unique vendors, good good, and even a special FWA stand!

That’s right, FWA’s team will be hosting a panel with lots of fun things. I don’t have all the details, but it’s definitely not something you’ll want to miss. In addition, it’ll be a super easy way to locate some more furs to make some new friends~

Sup, racers! Get ready for a boat-load of nostalgia, because the movie we’ll be watching is Hot Wheels: World Race, the 2003 prologue to the Hot Wheels: AcceleRacers movie series.

User reviews hold up pretty well for this movie even today. If cheesy and silly is what you want, then this piece of art will thoroughly entertain you. And because it’s in VRChat you get to snuggle with your friends on a sofa as you watch, and there’s nothing better than that!

In order to join in on the fun, remember to join the group instance either when you see it or when it’s getting close to the start time. Friend-request wyansauvetre if you haven’t already and request a manual invite if you’re having trouble. Alternatively, you can ping our host on Telegram

JapanFest Hang Out!

Time to get together and celebrate Japanese culture with Atlanta’s JapanFest! There’s going to be lots activities for everyone, making it easy to find something enjoyable regardless of your interests. Whether you like the food the art or the music there’s something for everyone to do at JapanFest!

:gafurs: Pontoon Brewery Meet (21+)

Where: Sandy Springs, GA

THIS IS OTTERLY AWESOME! We’re very excited to announce that we’ll be hosting an event at Pontoon Brewery! This establishment is a local (and Shusky-Approved) favorite: you may recognize their name and mascots from one of the guest breweries at FWA. They are very local, and very excited to host us for this very first–out of possibly many–Pontoon Brewery events!

The venue welcomes us to bring our own board games and tabletops to set up on their tables while they are ready to serve up some of their delicious brews. Of course, you are not obligated to join in with drinking with us, but we do want to show our appreciation to the venue–whether you take home a box or partake in a lil 5oz, or even donate a little bit–show out a lil! Oh, did I mention this event is Fursuit-Friendly? We’ll gladly set-up a photoshoot up by one of their murals.

That’s not all: there’ll be an Art Market happening at the same time, AND there’s food being served as well for those feeling a little peckish. GeorgiaFurs MiniCon Announcement

:gafurs: GeorgiaFurs MiniCon 2024

We’re official now! On October 19th-20th, we’ll be hosting a 2-day “mini con” at the FWAffice. And you read that correctly, it’s a 2-day event this time around, so make sure to mark your calendars!

In the previous years, we wanted to provide enough experience – for both attendees AND vendors – to have that “mini con” experience and enjoy each other. However, the sizing of our community centre makes it difficult to cater to EVERYONE, with so much movement. So, we’re splitting it: one day will be for events and activities, the other is strictly for vendors.

:gafurs: Future Plans

So where do we stand right now? Well, transparently, we’re about to write out the activities we want to do for those days. Thankfully, we’ve got some ideas already to differ from previous MiniCons! We’re also going to be looking for those with panel ideas. Ideally, we’re looking for something that can bring the everyone together in either craft or discussion, whilst still having other things going on. We’ll be creating a form for that soon! If you’re interested: start thinking of what you want to do and get ready to submit your ideas!

For our Artists and Fursuit Makers, however, we’re about to open up applications today for those who wish to vend at the event. We’ll be posting those in their respective areas in both our Discord and Telegram chats. If you’re interested in applying, keep an eye out for the applications! In previous years, we’ve been only able to do a few tables. Since we have the WHOLE space dedicated to you and the Flea Market this year, we have the opportunity to have more tables. Just be sure to read through the application and send it our way! We have…a LOT of work to do.

The team is excited that, over the last year, we’ve found the energy AND bandwidth to be able to start working on this a lot earlier than previous years. Our GeorgiaFurs members deserve the best community, and our team is working hard to provide the opportunity. We couldn’t have done it without the amazing GeorgiaFurs Mods, GeorgiaFurs Staff, and other Volunteers that have all helped us throughout the years. Of course, we WILL need help for MiniCon prep and management. If you’re interested in helping, we’ll be releasing more details on the opportunity in the near future! However, the GeorgiaFurs Team just wanted to say thank you to everyone for being just AWESOME and building this community as your own! We have these events because of all of our lovely community members, SO THANK YOU!
